A high-level delegation from Pakistan paid a courtesy call on the Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, at the Office in Accra to explore regulatory requirements for establishing a university and strengthening business ties between Ghana and Pakistan.
The delegation from Riphah International University was in Ghana on an exploratory mission to gather first-hand information on legal procedures, compliance obligations, and institutional frameworks governing the establishment of tertiary institutions and foreign business operations in the country. The visit was facilitated through the High Commission for Pakistan in Accra.
Leading the delegation was Mr. Hassan Muhammad Khan, Chancellor of Riphah International University, accompanied by Mr. Syed Mujtaba Tirmizi and Ms. Shafaq Hassan Khan, both Directors of the university. The team engaged the Registrar in discussions focused on corporate registration processes, governance standards, and the broader regulatory environment for foreign investors.
Welcoming the delegation, Mrs. Peprah underscored Ghana’s commitment to maintaining a transparent and efficient business regulatory regime while supporting credible international investments in key sectors such as education, noting that the ORC stands ready to provide guidance to ensure compliance with Ghanaian laws.
Mr. Khan, on behalf of the delegation, expressed appreciation for the warm reception, affirming the university’s interest in establishing a presence in Ghana to promote academic collaboration, research, and skills development.
Also present on behalf of the ORC were Mrs. Yayra A. Banini, Director, Registration and Licensing; Mrs. Sandra Quarcoo, Director, Inspection and Compliance; and Ms. Josephine Sitsofe Tsekpo, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications.
