ORC Strike Off 318 Companies From Its Companies Register

ORC Strike Off 318 Companies From Its Companies Register May 20, 2026

The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has announced the intended strike-off of Three Hundred and Eighteen (318) companies from the Register of Companies in accordance with Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).

The announcement was made through a press release issued by the Office on 19th May, 2026, as part of ongoing regulatory and compliance enforcement measures aimed at maintaining the accuracy, integrity and dependability of Ghana’s corporate register.

The notice of the intended strike-off has been published in Volume 40 of the ORC Companies Bulletin dated 15th May, 2026. The affected companies will be struck off the register after the expiration of three months from the publication date unless sufficient cause is shown to the contrary, upon which the companies shall stand dissolved.

The Office explained that the exercise forms part of its mandate to ensure businesses operating within Ghana’s corporate space comply with statutory obligations, noting that an accurate and credible register is essential for promoting investor confidence, corporate transparency and good corporate governance.

The ORC has encouraged all affected entities, shareholders, creditors and other interested persons to take note of the publication and respond within the stipulated period where necessary.
