The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) brought its Business Registration and Sensitization Clinic to the Upper West Region, running from Monday, 20th April to Friday, 24th April, 2026 at the Wa Metropolitan Assembly, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
A second leg of the clinic followed in the Upper East Region, running from Monday, 27th April to Friday, 1st May, 2026 at the Kassena-Nankana Municipal Assembly, Navrongo.
The ORC is the statutory body established under the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and responsible for registering, regulating and educating all businesses in Ghana. The initiative forms part of ORC’s public education and sensitization drive to make its services more accessible while promoting compliance with the Act.
Services offered at both clinics included on-the-spot business registration, renewal of existing businesses, and business advisory services. Persons registering a business were asked to bring their Ghana Card, Tax Identification Number (TIN), GPS address, residential and business address, and a proposed business name. Those renewing simply needed a copy of their business registration certificate and, where applicable, a financial statement for the filing of Annual Returns.
Registration for a sole proprietorship costs GHC130, while business renewal is GHC70 per year. A Company Limited by Shares costs GHC585 plus 1% of the stated capital, while a Company Limited by Guarantee (churches, NGOs, associations, etc.) costs GHC490.
