The Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, Esq., has reaffirmed the office’s commitment to promoting transparency, accountability, good corporate governance and sustainable business practices in Ghana.
She made the commitment when she delivered a goodwill message at the 2026 National Sustainability Reporting Conference, held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at The Palms by Eagles, Airport City, Accra.
The conference, organized by the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) in collaboration with the National Sustainability Reporting Implementation Committee (NSRIC) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), was held under the theme: “Countdown to Sustainability Reporting Compliance: Enhancing Readiness, Data Integrity, and Assurance.”
In her goodwill message, Mrs. Peprah highlighted the growing importance of sustainability reporting in strengthening transparency, accountability and confidence in organizations. She noted that businesses must increasingly integrate sustainability considerations into their governance, risk management and decision-making processes as they respond to changing regulatory and global expectations.
She further emphasized the importance of reliable information, sound governance systems and compliance in building institutions that are resilient and capable of creating sustainable value.
The Registrar’s remarks reflected the ORC’s broader commitment to strengthening Ghana’s business regulatory environment through good corporate governance, compliance, transparency and innovation. The ORC has consistently maintained that strong governance is fundamental to sustainable business growth, investor confidence and national economic development.
The conference brought together regulators, professionals, businesses, financial institutions, assurance providers, academia and other stakeholders to examine Ghana’s preparedness for sustainability reporting and the implementation of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and S2).
Discussions focused particularly on organizational readiness, data integrity, reporting systems, governance, assurance and the practical steps institutions must take to transition from sustainability reporting awareness to effective implementation.
For the ORC, participation in the conference reinforces its commitment to supporting a business environment where responsible corporate conduct, accurate information, accountability and sustainable enterprise growth remain central to Ghana’s economic development.
