The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has taken note of recent media coverage concerning a research
report published by the World Bank on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025, in Accra. Several media outlets have
misinterpreted the findings, incorrectly suggesting that the business registration process at the ORC takes 57
days to complete. While the World Bank’s report is well-intended, it has been misinterpreted as referring
exclusively to the ORC’s registration process.
