AGI Accra Region Chair Pays A Courtesy Call On Registrar Of Companies.

The Chairman for the Accra Region of the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), Mr. Tsonam Akpeloo, on Wenesday, June 18, 2025 paid a courtesy call on the Registrar of Companies at her office in Accra. The visit formed part of the AGI’s strategic engagements aimed at strengthening collaboration with key regulatory institutions to support the growth and sustainability of local businesses in Ghana.

Welcoming Mr. Akpeloo and his delegation, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, Acting Registrar of Companies expressed her delight at the visit and underscored the importance of building strong institutional partnerships.

She emphasized that public education remains a core priority of her administration and extended an open invitation to the AGI to collaborate with the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) on educational initiatives.

Mrs. Peprah also reiterated the readiness of her office to partner with AGI to raise awareness on key themes including business registration, regulatory compliance, and corporate insolvency.

Mrs. Peprah disclosed that her office was working to enhance transparency and accountability in the corporate space through intensified public education on filing Beneficial Ownership (BO) information. She noted that, sensitization on Beneficial Ownership was vital anti-corruption measure and a crucial tool in addressing cyber fraud and other financial crimes.

On his part, Mr. Akpeloo expressed appreciation for the warm reception and commended the ORC for the reforms and innovations being implemented to support business growth and formalization.

He assured the Registrar of AGI’s willingness to support the ORC’s public education drive and other initiatives that promote industrialization and compliance.

He revealed that AGI is currently developing a digital authentication system for business certificates, a project aimed at reducing cyber fraud and promoting secure trade documentation across Africa.

He further encouraged both institutions to align their efforts with the objectives of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), advocating for deliberate strategies that enable Ghanaian businesses to take full advantage of the continental market.

The AGI delegation included Mr. Terry Mante, Advisor to the Regional Chair, whiles the Registrar received the delegation in the company of her Acting Deputy, Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyakpenu.
