Registrar Of Companies Interact With Staff In Kumasi Zonal Office.

Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, the acting Registrar of Companies on Wednesday 14th May ,2025 interacted with management and staff of the Kumasi zonal office.

The overarching purpose of the Registrar’s regional tour was to provide her firsthand insights into the operations, challenges, and achievements of the Kumasi Zonal Office.

It also offered a platform for management and staff to engage with the Registrar on matters affecting the service, staff welfare, and customer satisfaction.

Prior to the staff durbar, Mrs. Peprah and her deputy Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyakpenu, held a closed-door meeting with zonal head Nana Ama Akyiaa prempeh where the discussion focused on achievement, challenges and exploring initiatives to improve service delivery.

The Registrar commended the Kumasi team for their resilience and professionalism in delivering essential services to the business community in the Ashanti Region. She reiterated that feedback gathered during the visit would inform policy and administrative decisions at the national level.

Mrs. Peprah in her address, acknowledged the issues raised and reaffirmed management’s commitment to resolving them. She underscored the need for the office to intensify efforts at ensuring Companies comply with their statutory obligations, such as filing annual returns, updating company information, and maintaining proper corporate governance structures.

Welcoming the Registrar and her entourage, the Zonal Registrar for Kumasi, Nana Ama Akyiaa Prempeh, Esq, expressed appreciation for the visit, stating it was a significant morale booster for staff. He outlined the office’s recent achievements in improving turnaround times for business registration services and strengthening public education.

Ms. Prempeh also touched on operational challenges, which she hoped would be addressed following the visit.

The Deputy Registrar, Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyakpenu, also addressed staff on the organization’s conditions of service, providing updates on improvements and ongoing negotiations with relevant stakeholders to enhance staff welfare. 

He acknowledged concerns raised by staff regarding career progression, professional development opportunities, and remuneration.

Head, Human Resource, Ms. Nana Afia Gyasi, took staff through the newly implemented Glico Health Insurance Policy tailored for ORC staff. She elaborated on the policy’s scope, benefits, and procedures for accessing healthcare services.

According to Ms. Gyasi, the introduction of the Glico Health Policy is a strategic move to safeguard the wellbeing of employees and their dependents, ensuring they have reliable access to medical care.

The Registrar’s visit to Kumasi marks the third leg of her regional tour, with more offices expected to be visited in the coming weeks. She commended the zonal team for their continued dedication and affirmed her office’s commitment to supporting regional office with the tools needed to perform efficiently.

Mrs. Peprah concluded her visit by reiterating the ORC’s commitment to building a modern, efficient, and inclusive institution that supports Ghana’s formal business sector and economic transformation agenda.

During the visit, Mrs. Peprah held an interactive session with staff and management to listen to their concerns and suggestions for improvement. She also toured the Sunyani office facilities, inspecting the front-office service area, records room, and staff workspaces.

As part of her itinerary, Mrs. Peprah paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, where discussions were held on deepening the ORC’s role in regional economic development and improving the business regulatory environment in the Ashanti Region.

Mrs. Peprah was accompanied by the Deputy Registrar of Companies, Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyakpenu, along with key members of the management team including Dr. Dennis Kyei Botwe, Head of Administration; Nana Afia Serwah Gyasi, Head of Human Resource; and Constance Adomaa Takyi, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communication.
