A delegation from the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) of Switzerland, led by Ms. Paula Oberli, Programme Manager for Private Sector Development, paid a courtesy call on the Acting Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, to advance ongoing cooperation with the Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC).
The engagement formed part of Switzerland’s broader economic development partnership under the IFC/SECO Ghana Financial Infrastructure Programme (GFIP), with discussions focused on strengthening Ghana’s corporate resolution and insolvency management framework. The meeting provided an opportunity to review institutional progress and reaffirm shared priorities aimed at enhancing regulatory effectiveness, institutional capacity, and long-term sustainability within the insolvency regime.
In her remarks, the Registrar highlighted the statutory mandate of the ORC under the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015), emphasizing the Office’s central role in the administration, supervision, and development of insolvency and restructuring processes in Ghana. She reiterated the ORC’s commitment to strengthening its institutional architecture, advancing professional standards, and promoting a modern, efficient insolvency system supported by digital transformation and stakeholder engagement.

Ms. Oberli commended the ORC for the strides made in operationalizing the insolvency framework and reaffirmed SECO’s continued support for reforms that promote transparency, efficiency, and private sector confidence.
Ms. Oberli was accompanied by Mrs. Magdalena Wurst, Deputy Head of Cooperation; Mr. Carl Kofi Alai, Private and Financial Sector Specialist; Mr. Ubong Valentine Awah, Senior Operations Officer at the International Finance Corporation (IFC); and Mr. Godfried Osei-Boakye of the IFC.
Also present on behalf of the ORC were Mr. Benjamin Zigorsh-Nyakpenu, Acting Deputy Registrar of Companies; Mr. Jones Nathaniel Ansah, Director of the Liquidation and Insolvency Directorate; Mr. Ted Frimpong Asare, Senior State Attorney; and Ms. Josephine Sitsofe Tsekpo, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to sustained collaboration in advancing the effective implementation of the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act and strengthening Ghana’s insolvency regime.
